Some Things Never Change
There is an old tale out of India about a group of blind scholars who go on a journey. They encounter a large creature. Each feel different parts of the animal to determine what it is. Each comes to their own conclusions and proclaims they, and only they, have correctly identified it. They bicker and argue indefinitely, refusing to listen to others or piece together the bigger picture. They get nowhere, solve nothing and never "see" the elephant in the room.

This comical story reminds me of today's politicians, professors and pundits. Thousands of years later, modern know-it-alls continue to misunderstand and misdiagnosis the real roots to our biggest, most chronic problems. They blame others and prescribe potions that poison.
