Do You Know The Story of ...

Some Things Never Change
There is an old tale out of India about a group of blind scholars who go on a journey.  They encounter a large creature.  Each feel different parts of the animal to determine what it is.   Each comes to their own conclusions and proclaims they, and only they, have correctly identified it.  They bicker and argue indefinitely, refusing to listen to others or piece together the bigger picture.  They get nowhere, solve nothing and never "see" the elephant in the room.
This comical story reminds me of today's politicians, professors and pundits.  Thousands of years later, modern know-it-alls continue to misunderstand and misdiagnosis the real roots to our biggest, most chronic problems.  They blame others and prescribe potions that poison.

Our Movement, our books, and our conversations are focused on finding truth, root causes, and working together to impact our America's ongoing socioeconomic and education issues.  The video above, downloads below and our coloring contests are meant to help us keep things in perspective and make solving our problems fun and interesting.   Enjoy!

We think the tale is a great way to start or restart a discussion about politics, particularly with kids.  Our take on this age-old parable is available for free, so you can share the story with your children, or restart a healthier political conversation with friends and foes.  Just let us know where to email the pdf files.  You will receive the 11" x 17" image/poem below so you can print copies and share with family and friends.  You will also receive an 8.5" x 11" version without the poem.  Use this version to enter our coloring contest.   Print the document, give it to your kids to color (big kids are welcome to post too), have them add their name to the image, scan and post (on our Facebook page).
